Why our opening prices are so low

Lower price. Higher standard of care.

SparkLab is growing into a new model of early learning. We are starting here, in our licensed home in Irvine, and our next step is our own commercial center (planned for August 2027). Getting there happens in stages: building our community of families, refining our curriculum and daily playbook with real children, and licensing the new building.

Our opening prices are how we thank the families who join us along the way. The price is lower; the care is not. Your child gets what most Irvine preschools don't offer even at a higher price: six children per teacher, half of what California allows; German–English immersion every day; and a licensed home where every child is truly known (California license #304314867). Come and see for yourself.

Half Day

8:30am – 1:00pm or 1:15pm – 5:45pm

Four and a half hours — morning or afternoon, the same price either way. The morning is our core immersion block; the afternoon is built for children who attend free IUSD Pre-K or Kindergarten in the morning and starts at 1:15 so the two groups never overlap.

  • Morning or afternoon, your choice
  • English + German immersion
  • Outdoor play & discovery stations
  • Organic snack provided
  • Daily photo & note updates

Full Day

8:30am – 5:30pm

Our signature program. The full immersion rhythm, morning and afternoon in one seamless day, with rest built in — and priced below booking two half days.

  • The complete immersion curriculum
  • Organic morning & afternoon snacks
  • Discovery stations & long-form projects
  • Rest & quiet time built in
  • Priority enrollment at the future center
Arrival & pickup

Morning pickup closes at 1:00pm; afternoon arrivals begin at 1:15pm. Our license allows up to 6 children here at any one time, so the quarter-hour between the two blocks is kept deliberately clear — the morning group has gone before the afternoon group arrives. It also means every family gets an unhurried handover at the door rather than a wave. Full-day children stay right through; it is their rest and quiet time.

Lunch & snacks

Families pack lunch; we provide the snacks. A healthy organic snack is served mid-morning and again in the afternoon, shared at the table as part of the day's rhythm. Lunch comes from home in your child's own lunchbox — we sit down and eat it together, unhurried. We are a small home studio without a kitchen team, so we don't cook or cater meals; it also means your child eats exactly what suits them.

Monthly tuition is based on a fixed weekly schedule and is confirmed at enrollment; a one-time registration fee applies. Days are fixed for the term rather than drop-in, so every child keeps the same group. Sibling and prepaid options available — just ask. Tuition is eligible for Dependent Care FSAs — see how to pay with pre-tax dollars. Licensed for up to 6 children at a time, ages 2–6 · California Family Child Care Home license #304314867.

Paying for care

Pay tuition with pre-tax dollars

SparkLab is a licensed child care provider, so tuition counts as a work-related dependent care expense. Many employers let you set aside part of your salary for it before taxes through a Dependent Care FSA — and from 2026 the federal limit is $7,500 per household, up from $5,000.

How to find out if your employer offers it

  • Check your benefits portal (Workday, ADP or similar) for “Dependent Care FSA”, “DCFSA” or “Dependent Care Assistance Program (DCAP)”. It usually sits next to the health-care FSA.
  • Or ask HR one question: “Do we offer a Dependent Care FSA, and what is our plan’s annual limit?” Employers don’t all offer the full $7,500.
  • Mind the enrollment window. Most companies hold open enrollment in November or December for the coming year. Starting with a new childcare provider usually also lets you enroll or change your amount mid-year — ask HR.
  • Get reimbursed by sending our monthly receipts to your FSA administrator.

General information, not tax advice. Eligibility depends on your situation — for example, both parents generally need to be working, looking for work, or in school. Please check with your plan administrator or a tax professional.
